  • Reuniting with Kajukenbo Association of America Gaylord Method. I’m now under GGM Melcor Chavez as one of late GGM Charles Gaylord predecessor in the KAA system. GGM Chavez resides in Albuquerque NM and has trained many fighters both in Kumite and Muay Thai. I am very honored to be under a knowledgeable and skillful person.

Life has many twists and turns and maintaining a positive attitude brings forth lots of gratifying days. The holiness and guardian angles have protected me from devastating situations. At this point in my life, I am proud and fortunate to live a well balance life. Peace be with all…KI AI

AKA Professor V Frank Mateo has trained in KAA Kajukenbo Association of America Gaylord Method 8th degree
Red and black trim belt under GGM Melcor Chaves. He trained with Professor Brian Baxter, Tracys Kenpo with Jerry Samuelson, CHA 3 Kenpo under retired Associate Professor & Co Founder Frank Suan, Judo with Bob Nishii, Boxing at Palolo Gym, and Muay Thai in Don Muang, Thailand, where he lived for one year. He is a certified teacher in the State of Washington, Hawaii, and is nationally certified as a strength & conditioning coach NSCA (University of Hawaii, Leilehua High School, Kamehameha Schools Kapalama, ODea High School).

Professor Mateo is no longer under GM Jerry Scott and lost his ranking as a 9th degree. It didn’t matter to him as he wanted to reunite with his original Kajukenbo training.

He was previously an All-Star baseball pitcher in Hawaii, and was awarded Baseball Coach of the Year in 2005 by the North Seattle Baseball Association. That season his team won the championship game against a rival team that had gone undefeated to that point.

Professor’s fight team has a winning record as well. Martial Arts Sabaki Full Contact & continuous fighting 25-4, Muay Thai 28-7-1. He also ventured in organizing 10 events in Muay Thai. Matching and promoting fighters from Canada, Oregon, Idaho, Hawaii, Washington State and his fighters.

Professor Mateo is a military veteran, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW). He has trained military personnel, Secret Service agents, Seattle Police Officers, King County Sheriff Department, athletes (professional and amateur), and regular citizens in KSDI, Muay Thai, and Boxing. He also worked as a Personal Trainer at Nautilus Fitness Center in Honolulu, Seattle Athletic Club, Miekos Fitness, Northshore Senior Center, Kenmore Senior Center, and at his facility.
